He had pneumonia a few weeks ago, it damaged a bit of his heart and he died during surgery

Richard Whitely was only 61 when he died. It's such a shame, Countdown will never be the same ever again. I wouldn't have wanted Dennis Norden to have died, lol, but I agree with the idea in general. Maybe Crazy Frog, or someone very annoying, but who's not actually a fictional character...
